End Veteran Suicide

#HealingHappens American Soldier Network: Save Our Heroes on Our Home Front Campaign We invite you to join American Soldier Network’s social media campaign to raise awareness and funds to end veteran/military suicide. It’s hard to believe; in fact, it’s overwhelmingly shocking: Since 1999, we have lost more than 200,000 veterans and military service members to suicide in the USA. Approximately every 40 minutes, a veteran takes his or her own life. We are also losing between one and three active-duty military members to suicide daily. It is long overdue that we all come together to save our heroes—here, on the home front. Will you please join us and participate in the challenge to end this devastating and unacceptable situation? Here are some easy—but effective and impactful—ways to spread the word: • Print the #HealingHappens logo and display it at home, at work, in the corner of your car’s windshield, on your front door or window, or even on a T-shirt or cap. • Upload a video: Be creative and share your own patriotic message showing you with the #HealingHappens logo. • Extend your appreciation, support and thanks to our heroes. Show that you are a #BattleBuddy here, at home! • Reach out to your friends, family, co-workers and celebrities, asking them to do the same. • Send donations to https://www.crowdrise.com/healinghappens All donations of any amount are welcome—and desperately needed. The monies raised will— ▪ sustain the campaign ▪ support programs and vetted facilities treating PTS (post-traumatic stress), TBI (traumatic brain injury), dog therapy programs and suicide prevention hotlines If you are a veteran or active-duty military or spouse, and you are LIVING PROOF that healing can truly happen, let us know at #HealingHappens, and tell your story! We can, and must, do this together! We want to start the dialog on veterans’ needs, end veteran homelessness and remove the stigma. After all, this is a matter of brain health. Everyone carries emotional, mental and physical “baggage”; there is not a single person on the planet who does not have issues to acknowledge and deal with. We all need to embrace our military and veterans. We need to empower them with our love and gratitude, stand up for our troops and let them know we all care and are here for them. Let’s take the politics out of this terrible situation and help our service men and women and veterans find the support they need. The Veterans Administration and our government have let our heroes down for too long. It is now high time for all Americans to become vocal and proactive and let our heroes know #HealingHappens. Together, we can all be a #BullhornForOurBrave and give our military heroes the hope and healing they deserve. Please join us in fight to help our men and women live healthy, happy and productive lives. They have put their lives on the line for our country; now, we can honor their service by giving back.
